A few practical details about staying at Samujana. For anything else, our reservations team is happy to help.

How many villas are there at Samujana?

Samujana comprises 23 stunning villas, all uniquely designed and offering three to eight bedrooms.

Due to the unique design and layout of each villa, we have classified our premium villas as “Samujana Plus”.

What is a ‘Samujana Plus’ villa?

Due to differences in the design and layout of the villas, we have classified our premium villas as “Samujana Plus”. These villas feature upgraded amenities, which may include gyms and cinemas. For more details on individual villas, please visit the Villas page.

Does Samujana have a private beach?

All beaches in Thailand belong to the monarchy and are preserved for the enjoyment of the Kingdom’s people — none are private. Samujana is perfectly poised overlooking a quiet coral cove with a picture-perfect beach, which we share with two small beach resorts. The popular tourist beaches of Choeng Mon and Chaweng are approximately five minutes away.

Is there security at the estate?

Yes, uniformed security is present on the estate 24 hours a day.

Is it possible to enjoy an early check-in or late checkout?

If the villa is available, you may certainly enjoy an early check-in and/or late checkout — however this is subject to availability as we may have other guests checking in or out of your villa on the same day. Either way, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Standard check-in time is 3pm and checkout time is 12pm.

What does “maximum occupancy” mean?

This is the maximum number of guests the villa can comfortably accommodate. Certain villa bedrooms are able to accommodate an additional rollaway bed and/or one crib.

Extra beds are charged at an additional rate of US$71 per adult, per night, and are subject to availability, 10% service charge and 7% VAT. This rate includes airport transfers, daily breakfast and additional costs for the extra bed.

Guests aged 13 years and older at the time of check-in are classified as adults. A maximum of 2 additional children under the age of 3 per bedroom.

A baby cot can be provided at no cost for children under the age of 3 years. An extra-bed charge of US$35++/night applies for children aged 4 to 12.

If the number of guests travelling exceeds the maximum occupancy stated, please book more than one villa or contact The Estate for alternate accommodation options and assistance.

Who will look after us during our stay at Samujana?

Each Samujana villa has a team of dedicated attendants who will look after you and your guests during your stay. In addition, we would be delighted to arrange private chefs, babysitters, massage and beauty therapists, drivers, security, yoga gurus, barmen, fire dancers, DJs, personal trainers and tennis coaches for your enjoyment.

What is included in my villa rate?

Full daily breakfast, return airport transfers, wireless internet access, daily housekeeping, 24-hour uniformed security, back-up generators for the estate, full use of the estate’s facilities including an all-weather flood-lit tennis court, beach, landscaped gardens and paths, resort-style concierge service, towels and linen, kitchen equipment, toiletries and amenities.

What is included in breakfast?

Your villa breakfast at Samujana includes fresh tropical fruit, yoghurt, toast, croissants, cereals, eggs, bacon, Thai rice porridge, coffee, tea and juice. Additional items are available at an extra charge — including smoked salmon, imported cheese and hams, Champagne, Prosecco, grilled beefsteak, local lobster and more.

What are our options for lunch and dinner?

There are many options for dining at Samujana.

You may order from the in-villa dining menu, and a chef will prepare your meal fresh for service within your villa.

You can also book one of our private Thai chefs to prepare delicious local cuisine in the comfort of your villa, or we can do the shopping for you and you can cook yourself.

We would be delighted to make reservations for you at any of the restaurants on the island, as well as recommend the best places to eat — from simple shacks lining the beach to trendy experiences, and from flame-grilled smoky dives to family-run comfort-food bistros.

How family friendly are the villas?

Villa holidays are the perfect alternative to renting multiple hotel rooms, and this is especially true for multi-generational families travelling together. Most of our villas are ideal for families with younger and older guests, though some are more suited than others. Please let us know the dynamics of your group during the reservation process and we will match the best available villa to your needs.

What is there for us to do on Koh Samui?

Koh Samui is a treasure chest of exciting activities and excursions — from zip lines through the jungle and butterfly gardens, to sampling rum at the island’s only rum distillery, experiencing a championship Muay Thai fight from the front row, bungee jumping, visiting Big Buddha and the mummified monks, hiking to pristine waterfalls, partying the night away, or rejuvenating with a holistic spa journey. Let us create the perfect day for you.

What about no-shows or early departure?

Guests who do not show will be charged for the entire stay. Guests who depart prior to the confirmed departure date are not entitled to any refund.
