Before You Book
How do I book a villa?
To book your villa in paradise, please contact our reservations team or use the Book Now button at the top of the page to choose your dates and your villa.
Can I reserve more than one villa?
Absolutely. Many of our guests book two, three or more villas side by side for larger families, groups of friends, weddings and corporate retreats. Our reservations team can hold adjacent villas for you and coordinate transfers, dining and experiences across the whole group. Please contact us with your dates and approximate group size and we’ll put options together.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms vary by season, length of stay and any promotional rate applied at the time of booking, and the exact policy is confirmed on your reservation. As a guide, deposits are typically non-refundable and cancellations closer to arrival may incur higher charges. Please contact our reservations team for the specific policy that applies to your stay.
Are there any special offers or seasonal packages?
Yes, we regularly run seasonal offers, long-stay savings, early-bird rates and packages built around weddings, celebrations and wellness stays. You can see what is currently available on our Offers page, or contact reservations for tailored proposals.
What about no-shows or early departure?
Guests who do not show will be charged for the entire stay. Guests who depart prior to the confirmed departure date are not entitled to any refund.
Your Stay
How many luxury villas are there at Samujana?
Samujana comprises 23 stunning villas, all uniquely designed and offering three to eight bedrooms.
Due to the unique design and layout of each villa, we have classified our premium villas as “Samujana Plus”.
What is a ‘Samujana Plus’ villa?
Due to differences in the design and layout of the villas, we have classified our premium villas as “Samujana Plus”. These villas feature upgraded amenities, which may include gyms and cinemas. For more details on individual villas, please visit the Villas page.
Which villa has the best sea views?
Virtually every Samujana villa enjoys a sea view across the bay towards Koh Phangan, thanks to the estate’s elevated hillside position. A handful of villas sit higher on the ridge with particularly dramatic, uninterrupted panoramas. Let us know whether you prefer sweeping high-elevation views or a closer-to-the-water perspective and we’ll suggest the best matches.
Which villa has the largest infinity pool?
Pool sizes vary across the 23 villas, and several of our larger Samujana Plus villas feature exceptionally long infinity pools designed for serious swimming as well as lounging. Our reservations team can share current pool dimensions and photos to help you choose the right villa for your stay.
Which villa is closest to the beach?
Samujana is set on a hillside overlooking a quiet coral cove, with the beach a short walk or quick buggy ride from every villa. The villas on the lower tiers of the estate are the closest to the shoreline. If easy beach access is a priority, tell us and we’ll prioritise the lower-elevation villas in your options.
What does “maximum occupancy” mean?
This is the maximum number of guests the villa can comfortably accommodate. Certain villa bedrooms are able to accommodate an additional rollaway bed and/or one crib.
Extra beds are charged at an additional rate of US$71 per adult, per night, and are subject to availability, 10% service charge and 7% VAT. This rate includes airport transfers, daily breakfast and additional costs for the extra bed.
Guests aged 13 years and older at the time of check-in are classified as adults. A maximum of 2 additional children under the age of 3 per bedroom.
A baby cot can be provided at no cost for children under the age of 3 years. An extra-bed charge of US$35++/night applies for children aged 4 to 12.
If the number of guests travelling exceeds the maximum occupancy stated, please book more than one villa or contact The Estate for alternate accommodation options and assistance.
What is included in my villa rate?
Full daily breakfast, return airport transfers, wireless internet access, daily housekeeping, 24-hour uniformed security, back-up generators for the estate, full use of the estate’s facilities including an all-weather flood-lit tennis court, beach, landscaped gardens and paths, resort-style concierge service, towels and linen, kitchen equipment, toiletries and amenities.
What is included in breakfast?
Your villa breakfast at Samujana includes fresh tropical fruit, yoghurt, toast, croissants, cereals, eggs, bacon, Thai rice porridge, coffee, tea and juice. Additional items are available at an extra charge — including smoked salmon, imported cheese and hams, Champagne, Prosecco, grilled beefsteak, local lobster and more.
What are our options for lunch and dinner?
There are many options for dining at Samujana.
You may order from the in-villa dining menu, and a chef will prepare your meal fresh for service within your villa.
You can also book one of our private Thai chefs to prepare delicious local cuisine in the comfort of your villa, or we can do the shopping for you and you can cook yourself.
We would be delighted to make reservations for you at any of the restaurants on the island, as well as recommend the best places to eat — from simple shacks lining the beach to trendy experiences, and from flame-grilled smoky dives to family-run comfort-food bistros.
Families
Which villa is best for families?
Most Samujana villas are wonderfully family friendly, with safe, gated grounds, dedicated villa attendants and space for multiple generations to spread out. Larger villas with flat lawns, shallow pool entries and bedrooms grouped close together tend to work best for families with younger children.
Tell our reservations team the ages of your children and how you like to travel, and we’ll match you to the most suitable available villa.
How family friendly are the villas?
Villa holidays are the perfect alternative to renting multiple hotel rooms, and this is especially true for multi-generational families travelling together. Most of our villas are ideal for families with younger and older guests, though some are more suited than others. Please let us know the dynamics of your group during the reservation process and we will match the best available villa to your needs.
Weddings & Events
Which villa is best for a group of friends?
Groups of friends generally love our larger “Samujana Plus” villas, where everyone gets a generous en-suite bedroom and there is plenty of open-plan living, an oversized pool and outdoor lounging for sundowners and long dinners. Several villas also offer cinemas, gyms and dedicated bar areas. Share your group size and vibe with our reservations team and we’ll recommend the best fit.
Which villa is best for a corporate retreat?
For corporate retreats we typically suggest our larger Samujana Plus villas with flexible indoor–outdoor living areas that can double as meeting space, fast Wi-Fi throughout and the option to combine adjacent villas for bigger groups. Our team can also arrange AV equipment, private chefs, group transfers and team-building experiences across the estate.
Wellness
Can I arrange in-villa spa and massage treatments?
Yes. Our concierge can arrange in-villa massage and beauty therapists, from traditional Thai and oil massages to facials and treatments for couples, families and groups. Sessions take place in the comfort of your villa at a time that suits you. Please contact us to plan your wellness programme ahead of arrival.
Can you arrange private yoga or personal training?
Absolutely. We regularly arrange private yoga gurus, personal trainers and tennis coaches who come to your villa or the estate’s all-weather flood-lit tennis court. Whether you’d like a single sunrise yoga session or a daily wellness schedule for your stay, our concierge will tailor it for you.
Concierge & Experiences
Who will look after us during our stay at Samujana?
Each Samujana villa has a team of dedicated attendants who will look after you and your guests during your stay. In addition, we would be delighted to arrange private chefs, babysitters, massage and beauty therapists, drivers, security, yoga gurus, barmen, fire dancers, DJs, personal trainers and tennis coaches for your enjoyment.
Exploring Koh Samui
What is there for us to do on Koh Samui?
Koh Samui is a treasure chest of exciting activities and excursions — from zip lines through the jungle and butterfly gardens, to sampling rum at the island’s only rum distillery, experiencing a championship Muay Thai fight from the front row, bungee jumping, visiting Big Buddha and the mummified monks, hiking to pristine waterfalls, partying the night away, or rejuvenating with a holistic spa journey. Let us create the perfect day for you.
Does Samujana have a private beach?
All beaches in Thailand belong to the monarchy and are preserved for the enjoyment of the Kingdom’s people — none are private. Samujana is perfectly poised overlooking a quiet coral cove with a picture-perfect beach, which we share with two small beach resorts. The popular tourist beaches of Choeng Mon and Chaweng are approximately five minutes away.

Is it possible to enjoy an early check-in or late checkout?

Either way, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Standard check-in time is 3pm and checkout time is 12pm.
