Good news! Thailand has a new special tourist visa for tourists amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Thailand government’s quick response to curb the COVID-19 spread has made the World Health Organization (WHO) make Thailand as one of the countries successful in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
2020 has been a long year, so many will seek a new environment as soon as countries are deeming it safe to do so, and of course, choosing somewhere safe is a top priority. Koh Samui has been COVID-free since April 2020.
Thailand Special Tourist Visa or STV is perfect for travelers who want to make long stay vacations in Thailand. With this type of visa, tourists will be allowed to stay in Thailand for up to 9 months.
Tourists who can complete the Special Tourist Visa application procedure in time can enter Thailand via private jets or chartered flights starting October 1, 2020. Thailand has a Special Tourist Visa that tourists can use until September 30, 2021.
The visa is valid for 90 days, with two 90-day extensions available. Visitors will be able to stay in Thailand for a maximum of 270 days. Apply the Special Tourist Visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate with a cost of THB 2,000.
The following documents need to be submitted along with an application form:
• Proof of payment for alternative state quarantine or alternative local state quarantine facility
• Proof of post-quarantine accommodation (hotel reservation or Condo lease/ownership)
• Certificate showing applicant has been tested for COVID-19 and cleared
• Travel and health insurance
Visitors entering Thailand will need to undergo 14-day quarantine at a government-approved hotel. Upon exit of quarantine, visa holders must comply with the Thailand government COVID-19 control and preventative measures.
