At Samujana, we are entirely focused on the experience of our guests and our priority, always, is your health and safety. Now, more than ever , we are focused on the health and safety of all our guests and employees, without compromising the quality of your experience when you stay with us. Samujana, a secluded luxury villa estate based on the Thai island of Koh Samui, is among the earliest hospitality businesses to successfully respond to the challenges of traveling during the COVID-19 era, and the property provides a blueprint of what is to come for hoteliers all around the world. Koh Samui Airport (code: USM) has resumed flights from May 15th, and Bangkok Airways in conjunction with the Airport, have put in place efficient precautionary measures to ensure a safe, and a relatively seamless travel experience. These measures combined with Samujana’s commitment to cleanliness, make Samujana and Koh Samui, the perfect place for a villa vacation.
Commitment to Cleanliness
Samujana checks the temperature of all staff, and guests checking in or entering the resort.
Masks and hand sanitizer
Samujana provides masks and hand sanitizer for self service use for all our guests (including in all villas and in the private villa common areas). Masks are mandatory for Samujana employees, and our staff also wear gloves when servicing the villas.
Health and Hygiene Manager
Samujana is committed to the cleanliness and safety of our guests and our employees. We have appointed a new Health And Hygiene Manager role, responsible for the implementation of and ongoing execution of our cleanliness commitment.
A term that we all have become familiar with in the wake of the global pandemic, and governments all over the world have looked to quickly implement social distancing strategies. At Samujana, social distancing is nothing new, but they are now enforcing stricter policies that include a contactless service by utilising Portier Phones, the property’s guests have always benefited from the notion of “so far but yet so close” via Portier Technologies’ ability to boost contactless service. In that sense, guests can always stay in touch with their villa hosts, and can call them, chat with them and request help or access to on-site services from a single place. This ensures a strong connection between staff and guests, without the need for physical proximity.
Incase you haven’t yet heard the news, travel to Thailand is as easy as it’s ever been since the pandemic. All inbound travelers need to do is show proof of complete vaccination or if unvaccinated, a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel.
“Fully vaccinated” for travel to Thailand means two doses of a double dose vaccine — or one of a single-dose vaccine — administered 14 days or more before travel. You do not need a booster to be considered fully vaccinated.
Unvaccinated travelers without a PCR test can pay for and take one on-site upon entry.
Visitors aged 17 and under travelling with adults over 18 can enter under the same rules as their parents. So if parents of a family are unvaccinated, their children aged six and up will need to show a negative PCR test. If the parents are fully vaccinated, the children can enter without proof of vaccination or test.
It’s really that simple.
NB: If you do test positive for Covid-19 while on holiday in Thailand and have mild symptoms, you should quarantine at your accommodation until you test negative.
Extenuating Circumstances Policy
Under our Extenuating Circumstances Policy, Samujana will allow a cancellation option 7 days prior to the first day of booked stay (with a full refund of all money paid or a free re-booking for 18 months), if any of the following extenuating circumstances apply:
Please note, this policy can trigger earlier than the 7 days before the booked stay, if there is an official announcement that the mandates/extenuating circumstances will run through the stay period.
We have precautions in place to ensure a healthy stay for our guests and staff. We are closely monitoring the World Health Organization (WHO) and local health agencies for the latest developments related to Covid-19 and following all guidance on the appropriate health and safety measures. Currently, this includes everything from hand washing hygiene and using specific cleaning products to the guest room and common area cleaning procedures. Naturally, our villas lend themselves well to social distancing and our team is on hand to help with anything your guests need during their stay with us including fetching groceries and arranging private trips and transport.
